"StarMaker DemoDay and Taipei City’s Startups Gathering" in Nankang Software Incubator host by Inspiring Super Ideas Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "ISI") and co-organized by Project Office of Subsidies & Incentives for Taipei Industry.
The program has recruited 8 international teams to participate in the pitch competition, and invited 3 outstanding Taiwanese innovations from the "Taipei City Industrial Development Awards and Subsidy Program”, letting domestic and foreign teams bring their ideas to on-site venture capitalists.
On above planning, the event also invited Secretary of Taipei City Government Department of Economic Development Xu Jianhui, Commercial Representative Michael Alfred Ignacio of Manila Economic and Cultural Office and Vice President Wu Peizhang of PwC Taiwan lead the teams to attend the event. Meantime, Trinity, DMC & Partners, Chinarun Vantage Capital, SC Capital Consulting, Catalyst Capital Group, Cathay Capital as some domestic investment consultants to select and judge the foreign teams.
The result of the competition was that the Philippines teams FAME and Onewatt along with Thai Haupcar teams winning the total prize of NT$100,000 each, which will be used to hire Taiwan talent promotion business. The Thai team QueQ won the Best Popularity Award and successfully cooperated with the DMC & Partners and will further discuss their cooperation plan.
The representative of Thailand and the CEO of Haupcar, the award-winning team, Krit Vichaiwatanapanich also expressed their gratitude for participating in the StarMaker project and successfully collaborating with relevant Taiwanese companies. Besides benefits of having an office space, allow them to find various technology collaboration and research.
About ISI StarMaker Taipei Soft Landing Program
The "ISI StarMaker Taipei Soft Landing Program" is a short term incubation program that makes Taipei become a touch base into Taiwan market. This year, it has recruited four Philippine and two Thai software startups, as well as two new foreign software startups in Taiwan. ISI provides these new startups with a co-working space, and also designs three-month training courses and exhibitors to let them know more about Taiwan's business environment, connecting local companies, new ventures and investors. It hopes to help startups successfully establish company in Taipei through various resource links, and hopes to jointly build Taipei into a shining entrepreneurial city in Asia.
