Moving Forward with the 19th Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Raceweek 2022 after COVID-19 to help stimulate the economy of Phuket Island

Phuket is one of the most popular tourist destinations among both Thai and foreign travellers, given the opportunity. Cape Panwa Hotel of Cape & Kantary Hotels continues to host the 19^th Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Raceweek 2022 from 29^th June – 3^rd July 2022 to promote the tourism industry and revitalise the economy of Phuket Island after the COVID-19 outbreak now that the country has opened again. We invite everyone to travel, relax and marvel at the sight of dozens of bobbing yachts docked in front of Cape Panwa Hotel, Phuket’s private beach.

As a premier regional international sailing competition, with scenic island voyages and the spectacular scenery of Phuket during the Green Season, Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Raceweek has been organised continuously for 19 years. Rights owner and organiser, Media Business Services, works together with Cape Panwa Hotel, Phuket, Kantary Bay Hotel, Phuket, supported by Tourism Authority of Thailand, Sport Authority of Thailand, Yacht Racing Association Thailand and a range of sponsors. The event includes 4 days of sailing competition off the southeast coast of Phuket and a 4 nights of beach party at Cape Panwa Hotel, Phuket. The competition, divided into 6 categories; IRC Racing Zero; IRC Racing I; IRC Cruising; Multihull Racing; Firefly 850 Sports One Design; and Pulse 600 has attracted approximately 22 boats, including more than 200 crew from more than 25 countries around the world, including Australia, Canada, Japan, China, Denmark, England and New Zealand.

This year, registrations are strong and continue to come in daily. Interested crews come to compete by chartering large local boats. More than 21 vessels are already confirmed, including Team Hollywood, Let’s Get It On, APW Endeavour of Whltby, Sakura, Bonza, Voodoo, Twin Sharks with many more expected to register before the racing starts.
