Bangkok Thailand, 10 September 2019 – CapitaLand’s wholly owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott) announces new appointments to strengthen its senior management team for Thailand and Laos cluster.
Joining the team in May 2019 as the cluster’s Director of Sales & Marketing is Ms Dorinda Chua, who has over 20 years’ experience in hospitality sales & marketing. Her last held position was Vice President of Sales & Marketing with PT Lippo Karawaci in Jakarta. Prior to that, she was Assistant Vice President of Global Sales with Dusit International in Bangkok. Earlier in her career, she had also held sales and marketing positions with Sheraton in Ho Chi Minh City, Marriott and Club Med in Sydney and CDL Hospitality Management, Air New Zealand Destinations and Thomas Cook in Auckland.
Ms Chua holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Marketing with Human Resource Management from Middlesex University Business School in London and a Diploma in Travel & Tourism from The Travel Academy in Sydney. Commenting on her appointment, Ms Chua said:
“I am delighted to be returning to Bangkok to embark on a new career with Ascott, one of the leading international lodging owner-operators. It is an exciting time to join Ascott in Thailand during their period of expansive growth”.
In June 2019, Mr Rohan Nayyar was appointed Director of Revenue Management for the cluster. He joins Ascott with 14 years of revenue management and hotel operations experience, starting his career with Marriott Hotels & Resorts as a Revenue Management Executive before joining the General Managers Training Program with Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Egypt and Singapore. He then progressed to the roles of Cluster Revenue Manager in Abu Dhabi, Director of Revenue Strategy in New Delhi, and Market Director of Revenue Strategy in India and Sydney, all of which were cluster roles within the Hilton and Marriott brands. His last held position was Cluster Director of Business Development in Hanoi, where he was responsible for Sales, Marketing, Revenue and Distribution functions with Hilton Hotels & Resorts.
Mr Nayyar, who holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Hotel Management from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom, commented on his appointment:
“I am very excited about my new role and about joining the Ascott team to expand our footprint in Thailand and Laos. I look forward to deliver greater stakeholder value through business analytics, strategy and distribution as the key focus.”
To complete the team, Ascott welcomed Ms Narinrat Petchnoi as Director of Human Resources from July 2019. Ms Petchnoi joins Ascott with senior human resource experience in the hospitality industry in the past 15 years. She was Personnel Manager with Holiday Inn Bangkok, Human Resource Manager with Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, as well as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources at MBK Hotel & Tourism Company. Her last held position before joining Ascott was Director of Talent & Culture at Novotel Bangkok Platinum.
Ms Petchnoi graduated from Rajabhat University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism and holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Sripathum University and a Master of Arts in Hotel Management from Rajamangkala University.
